Fable Comics
Familiar fables are turned on their heads in this collection of 28 traditional stories reinterpreted by contemporary graphic artists. Drawing from collections by authors such as Aesop, Ambrose Bierce, and Ivan Krilov, the artists give new life to these tried-and-true tales. For instance, when Fox can't lay his paws on a juicy bunch of grapes, he dons a jet pack for extra propulsion; and Tortoise is no longer content to let slow and steady win the race when he finds himself lapped one too many times by Rabbit. “Funny, diverse, engaging: a lively addition to [author] Duffy's “Nursery Rhyme Comics” (2011) and “Fairy Tale Comics” (2013)” (KIRK).
